England vs New Zealand 1st Test Day 2 Highlights
New Zealand vs England 1st Test Day 1 Review & Day 2 Preview
Another bad innings for the English batting lineup as visitors batsmen collapsed badly in front of NEw Zealand bowling lineup and a flat pitch like Auckland. Only two out of 10 batsmen could enter in the double figures and rest is no doubt a history. Alastair Cook, Dawid Malan and Chris Woakes disappointed the team surprisingly as they were not able to utilize their experience and put the team into pressure. This is another history that 5 batsmen went to the pavilion on DUCK. Craig Overton took the charge and responsibility to score some handsome scores, bu unfortunately his team mates did not support him and he stood with 33 runs not out at pitch by the end of Day 1.
English skipper Joe Root lost his wicket at DUCK, Ben Stokes, Jonny Bairstow, Moeen Ali and Suart Broad went back to the pavilion on DUCK. None other than Tren Boult is the man who destructed the opposition’ batting lineup by picking up 6 wickets. On the counter side Tim Southee took 4 wickets and helped the team to send the entire opposition to the pavilion as soon as possible.
At present, the New Zealanders are gripping the match strongly as they have a lead of 117 runs. Kane Williamson, the captain is playing a responsible innings scoring 91 runs and he is near to another century of his Test cricket career. It wasn’t a pretty fine start by New Zealand’ openers as Jeet Raval lost his wicket earlier and a wave of hope spread in England bowling lineup, but that was temporary as Tom Latham and Kane built a fruitful partnership.
Now Henry Nicholls and Kane Williamson will restart their 1st innings on 2nd Day of 1st Test on 23rd March, 2018. James Anderson is trying hard to pick up the wickets and indeed he got success in picking up two wickets, while Stuart Board is struggling as he took only 1 wicket in his 15-Over Spell.
