England did not make the same mistake they did in 1st test against New Zealand as the batting lineup was quite mature and had better approach than recent test. Although openers were failed to give a sensible or responsible start against visitors. Alaistar Cook scored only 2 runs, while Mark Stoneman scored only 35 runs.
The credit goes to Jonny Bairstow who played a stunning and responsible innings of 101 runs. Mark Wood scored another half century of his Test career. Joe Root once again failed to play a responsible scenario against Kiwi bowlers. Ben Stokes pasted 25 runs on board.
Entire English team scored 307 runs on 2nd Day, the New Zealanders were also confused at the opening of their 2nd innings. Jeet Raval scored 5 runs, Tom Latham went back to the pavillion on DUCK. Kane Williamson, the captain disappointed team once again.
BJ Watling scored 85 and Colin de Grandhomme scored 72 runs that helped the team to reduce down margin and now New Zealand is now trailing by 76 runs.
