Scotland vs Pakistan Review, Result & Performance Overview
Another stunning performance by Pakistan away home beating the Scottish team with huge margin. Pakistan won the toss and they decided to bat first, although it was not a good start by the Pakistani openers, but the middle order lifted the team up and helped to set a big target. Fakhar Zaman, the opener scored only 21 runs playing 15 balls, while Ahmed Shehzad is still out of form and scored only 14 runs.
After the top order Pakistani batting lineup collapsed, the middle order batsmen including skipper Sarfraz Ahmed played a marvelous innings by scoring 89 runs in 49 balls. That innings by Sarfraz Ahmed helped the team to score a big total as well as control that situation. On the other hand, experienced Shoaib Malik also helped Pakistani team to paste a big target of board. Malik contributed about 53 runs in just 27 balls and scored another half century of his career.
Hussain Talat scored only 14 runs. The Scottish bowler Hamza Tahir was too costly for his team as he allowed the opposition to score 57 runs in his 4-over spell without giving a single wicket. Alasdair Evans bowled pretty excellent comparatively by picking up 3 wickets and giving just 23 runs in his 4-over spell. Richie Berrington also picked up 1 wicket and gave only 29 runs in his 3-over spell.
In order to chase down the target of 205 runs, the Scottish openers played beautifully by giving a big start of 53 runs. That’s why the Pakistani bowlers came under pressure, that was a short while as they broke the partnership and sent openers back to the pavilion back to back. Richie Berrington scored only 3 runs, while openers George scored 25 runs and Kyle Coetzer scored 31 runs off 1 balls. Only Michael Leask tried to play a responsible innings of 38 runs, but that was too late.
Pakistani bowlers Hasan Ali and Shadab Khan picked up two wickets each, on the other side Mohamad Amir and Mohammad Nawaz picked 1 wicket each. Amir proved to be most expensive bowler in match against Scotland as he gave 45 runs to the opposition. Hence Scotland could not chase down a big total of 205 runs and all team out on 154 runs and lost the match by 51 runs.
